At last!
The winner is......#9! My 9th swatch finally achieved the proper gauge. I had to wrap the yarn around the fingers of my left hand in a new and intriguing way but I finally got gauge on my size 3 Addi Turbos. I did not want to go smaller than that. And that's Moss stitch, too, my filler stitch of choice. Now, let's see how the second swatch goes. Should be interesting.
I hope to start the heel flap for J's second sock this afternoon. Finishing these before the Knitting Olympics begin will be a feat in itself.

Hi Holly,
Congrats on achieving you're gauge on your FLAK swatch. I also hold the yarn in my left hand when knitting. I noticed I also knit looser then most of the right hand throwers. Think that is just how it works I haven't posted to the FLAK list yet but only because I haven't recieved my yarn in the mail yet. So don't feel bad about catching up, I am in the same boat. Just joined the blog ring too. Adventures in a FLAK. See you on the list.

Hi Holly,
Thanks for commenting on my new blog! I didn't have an e-mail address for you so in answer to your question about what yarn I am using, it's Cascade 220 Peruvian Highland wool in color 9461. I didn't see your color on the cascadeyarns.com website so I don't know how close it is to yours. How good are you at this blog thing? I have to figure out how to get links along the sides like everyone else. I was up til after 1am last night trying to figure it out! Between blogging and knitting I'll never get anything else done! I also noticed you're 6ft tall. Me too! Well, 5'11 and 3/4! We should have a tall knitting group! Happy knitting,
Gina
Holly,
You commented on my blog the other day, sorry I'm just getting around to moseying by yours. We're a hsing family too--and we've used Sonlight in the past. Right now I use Tapestry of Grace for history, geog, lit, etc. Next year, ds will be a senior, and we'll be back to SL for the government.
I'm so glad you finally got gauge! With your 9th swatch! Yikes!!! I thought I was having a rough time with the CIT cardigan. You are persistent, and it paid off! Well done!
